Brachiosaurus "Arm Lizard" had a Giraffe-like posture. It is perhaps one of the tallest dinosaurs; Brachiosaurus could have stood up to six stories high. Brachiosaurus had very long front legs which are unusual in sauropod dinosaurs. In addition to its long front legs it also had a long neck giving the dinosaur its great height. It's hind legs were shorter than its front legs, it is not believed that Brachiosaurus was a fast runner. Brachiosaurus fed on the high forest canopies of the late Jurassic period. Brachiosaurus was named in 1903, based on the fossilized skeleton that was 30% complete. Brachiosaurus remains are among the rarest skeletons of all large plant eating dinosaurs known from the North American West. Other species have also been discovered in Tanzania, Africa.
